Getting Mom Through Winter

If you think about it,

even when the blooms shrink up

and fall below their stalks

to be reincorporated with Earth,

the bulbs you’ve already planted

are anchoring themselves,

braced for winter,

every intention of peeking up at the sky

when the sun shines back down again.

Life is always ready,

Sun is always promised,

Cold is just a temporary blanket

that allows you to appreciate its much more benevolent counterpart.
