but the longer you look

the deeper you fall into

both intended and unintended explanations.

with a softly confident conviction.

football is muted on the television in front of him,

quarterback connecting with wide receiver 

at the same rate of capital letter to period. 

she creates:

softly

perhaps Frank plays on a low volume in the living room,

perhaps not.

watered-down colors float around,

swirling into a masterpiece

exhibiting as much thoughtfulness and color

as her gardens 

that look in at her all the while.
