You Are Here

I forgot how nice it is

to find that somebody has fallen in love with me.

A mutuality

that gives me this energy

that was otherwise used up

on self-doubt,

second-guessing,

or guilt.

I don’t have to bury the words I want to say to you--

I can say them and you won’t run off.

I don’t have to hide the feelings I have for you--

I can feel them, and you’ll stay right here.

I don’t have to wonder what tomorrow brings--

you're always here, when I wake up.
