You don’t try to tame this one—

things will go badly;

you must let her be free

and you should take notes, good ones

because she will teach you your wrongs

and it is best if you right them.

It will be work to keep her—

you don’t deserve her just yet.

Nobody deserves her, at first.

But you can learn and grow and

prove an openness and understanding

(And you can’t just be anybody—

that would be crazy.)

No, she only tames herself

as her eyes absorb what’s around her

her tongue decides the sweetness of truth.

And only then

will she decide

to deal with you.
